In many law firms, WorkSite administrators and help/service desk staff must spend an inordinate amount of time fielding requests from users to create workspaces, as there is no way to safely grant end users that ability. Moreover, users that can create workspaces must coordinate with one another if they are to ensure that the naming conventions and folder structures used in each workspace follow an agreed upon standard.
To address both of these issues, Milan provides an alternative solution to the native WorkSite workspace creation process in the form of a workspace creation wizard, which can be used from either the Milan web interface or DeskSite/FileSite. For administrators, the wizard provides a simple way to create ad hoc workspaces with standard folder structures and naming conventions; for end users, it provides an interface for configuring and requesting the creation of specific workspaces, which administrators can then approve and create with a single click.
