About Desktop Import/Export
Milan Desktop Import/Export is a standalone desktop application for importing and exporting documents, folders, and workspaces into and from either WorkSite or NetDocuments.
When a new lateral hire arrives, you can use the tool to:
- Import documents and assign metadata, which can be read from a CSV file or entered manually.
- Replicate the folder structure of the attorney's files within a workspace.
- Retain versions and the original created and modified dates for imported documents.
- Import messages directly from the attorney's Outlook (PST) mailbox.
In the case of a departing attorney, Desktop Import/Export allows you to:
- Export complete workspaces, including their folder structure.
- Create a custom folder structure and select specific documents for inclusion in the export.
- Generate a CSV and/or HTML index file that lists all metadata values for the exported documents
