|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Destination | Export To | Select an export location from your last five choices. By default, files are exported to C:\Temp. To select a new export location, click the Select Folder... button. | |||||||

| Zip Contents |
Create a ZIP file containing all exported items and index files after all documents have been successfully downloaded. If a job is paused or a ZIP file cannot be created, the exported documents are left in folder named after the job in the selected export location. Note Desktop Import/Export cannot create a ZIP file if the full path to any file exceeds 255 characters. To avoid this issue, you can:
|
||||||||
| Skip/Rename Duplicates |
|
||||||||
| File/Folder Names | File Name Format |
Select the format by which exported documents are named. Tip: Unlike a DMS, Windows requires that all files in a particular folder have a unique name. If you are exporting documents from a workspace but not including folders, select a file name format that includes the document number/ID to guarantee that all file names are unique. If you do not wish to include the document number/ID, make sure that the Duplicates option is set to Rename so that all files can be exported. |
|||||||
| Max File Name Length |
The maximum length, in characters, of the name/description part of a file name. Note: This limit is applied to a file name before the number/ID and version are added to ensure they are not truncated. |
||||||||
| Max Folder Name Length | The maximum length, in characters, of folder names. | ||||||||
| Restore Names | Resets any name changes directly made to files listed in the job grid. |
Tip: You can select multiple workspaces or folders in the Select Import Folder dialog to be added in the export list.
Note: If you open Desktop Import/Export from DeskSite/FileSite with the Create Desktop Export command, the item selected in DeskSite/FileSite will be automatically added to the export list.
If you would like to include all versions of the documents included in the export job, open the Sources tab and click All in the Include group. By default, the Export Wizard will export only the latest version of documents.
To override this global setting for a specific workspace or folder in the export list, open the drop-down menu in the Version column and select All or Latest/Official. All documents contained within the workspace or folder, including its subfolders, will inherit the setting.
When overriding the version setting at the document level, you also have the option to include specific versions of the document in the export job.
To export specific versions of a document:
Warning: Changing the global version setting overrides all individual version settings and cannot be undone.
Any item in the export list can be excluded from the actual export by unchecking the check box in the Export column. If the unchecked item has any children items, those items will also be excluded from the export.
All items in the export list can be renamed and moved into new or existing folders.
After at least one item has been added to the export list, it is possible to either start or save the export job.
