Policy Systems

The Policy Systems settings tab allows you to configure which of your systems are secured by Policy Center.

Adding a Policy System

In order for Milan to be able to apply policies to a system, you must first register it as a policy system. Policy Center currently supports the following products/services:

To register a policy system:

  1. Click Add New Policy System to open the Add New Policy System dialog.
  2. Specify a policy system name and type.
  3. Enter the database-related details in the Database Name, SQL Server, Integrated Security, UserId, and Password fields.
  4. Set Enable this system to Yes.
  5. Click Save.

Field Description
System Name A descriptive name for the policy system.
System Type

A drop-down menu of supported systems, which include WorkSite, File Shares, DTE, Legal Key, and Elite. For other kinds of systems, you must select SQL-Based System and provide a custom script.

Database Name The name of SQL database name storing the security.
SQL Server The name of SQL server hosting the database specified above.
Integrated Security
Option Description
True Connect to the SQL database using trusted authentication.
False Connect to the SQL database using SQL authentication.
UserId The SQL user account ID.
Password The SQL user account password.
Enable this system? Specifies whether policies are applied to this system by the Policy Eventing service.
Enable daily enforcement? Specifies whether polices are re-applied to this system by the Policy Verification service.
