External People

Search external people based on experience metadata. You can filter/sort the list by:

Grouping- Choose to Group by Type or Ungroup.

Field Description
Name (Title/Office) The name of person with their title, office, or both below. Click to access the External Person Profile screen.
Company Name The company for which the person works.
Title The designation of external contact.
Phone The telephone number for the contact.
Department The department for which the person works.
Email The email address of the contact. Clicking the email address opens a blank message in the user’s default mail program.
External Category Categorization indicating this person's relationship to the firm (e.g., Judge, Accounting, Expert).

Tip: You can click the Name column header to sort the list by that column, then click the column header again to reverse the sort order.

External Person Profile

The External Person Profile screen consists of the Matter tab and the Person Details tab.

Note: The tabs included on the External Person Profile screen may vary by the configuration in the Admin : People Profile Forms node.

The Matter tab lists all matters in which this person played a role, along with the client the matter was associated to and the external person's role.

The Person Details tab shows contact information for the person as well as each applicable External Category (indicating the relationship the person has to the firm). You can add a new category, as well as designate whether the person is currently active in this role and set a range of active dates.

The Company tab contains details on other companies. Data available is:

Tip: You can show/hide the External People Profile page for various users. Admin: Permission Group: Person> View Profile

Click the Edit button in the upper right corner of the screen. This enables a Save button and a Cancelbutton. Users who do not have edit permissions, can click the Report Incorrect Data button on the top right corner of the screen, on any of the tabs to report any incorrect information. The external person profile name will be added in the Reported Incorrect Data list on the Experience and Relationship dashboard.

Note:  Companies and external people who are imported from excel or import will be marked with the system they were imported from, and those are added through the Umbria Company, Person and Contact forms will be notated with system Umbria.
