The Monitoring & Notification tab allows you to set rules for email notifications to be sent to users at the matter level and phase level.
You can add multiple notifications and define sub-notifications and criteria within the notification.

| Item Type | Select Matter to set notification against the Matter or select Phase to set notification against Phase. If you select Phase, all the phases from the budget are displayed in the Item drop-down. Select the relevant phase from the drop-down. |

Options available for Fees measure type are Work At Agreed Rate, Work At Standard Rate, Billed Value at Standard Rate, Billed Amount, Billable Amount, Collected Amount, Collected Value At Standard Rate, WIPAmount. Options available for Hours measure type are: Billable Hours, Billed Hours, Entered Hours, Collected Hours, WIPHours, and Write Down Hours. *WIP measures are available in 2020.1.1 |
| Target End Point | Displays a list of values against which the Measures will be compared. Options displayed is based on the Measure selected above. Options available for Fees measure type are Custom Value (Amount) (allows you to enter a custom amount), Budget Amount, Net Budget Amount, Net Budget with Additional Discount, Fixed Fee, and Fee Cap. Options available for Hours measure type are: Custom Value (Hours) (allows you to enter a custom hours) and Budget Hours. Based on the option selected, the values for these measures are auto populated from the Budget tab. |

| Enter the criteria details for the notification. Select Percentage to enter values as Percentage or select Amount to enter the values as a number. | |

| On Every/Increment | Set an incremental value/percentage at which an email should be triggered. The value will be the currency set for the plan. |
| Notification Subject | Type a notification subject for the email sent. This will be used when sending the notification. |
| Who to notify | Select the recipients for the email. The email security has been applied to the Planning email notifications in the same way as the rest of Umbria. If a user is denied access to setup or receive emails, they will not be able to be selected in this dropdown. |
| Email template | Select the email template for the notification to be sent. |

| At What time the email should be sent? | Select the time at which the email should be sent. The time zone is set to your local time. |
| Time Zone | Displays the default time zone as per the local time zone settings on the user's system. |
To add a sub-notification within the main notification click
next to Item Type and select the option Add Sub Notification
To remove a notification click
next to Item Type and select Remove Notification. Selecting this option will also delete all the sub-notification and criteria defined within the notification.
To add an additional criteria within the main notification click
next to Item Type and select the option Add Criteria. This option is also available from the action menu next to Range Type.
To delete a criteria, click the
next to the criteria and select the option Remove Criteria.
To add a report like excel template or dashboard export to an email, click the dropdown called Select Widget Export to attach.
All dashboards will display in the list, as well as any templates in the system. Use the Admin panel to confirm and add any budget export templates.
Select the criteria and click the Test Email option to send a sample email message. Enter the recipient's email address in the field provided and click Send Test Email. The data contained in the test email is for testing and does not contain any information specific to the matter you have open.
Note: To enable or disable the Test Email button, set or disable the permission for it in the admin panel. The permission is CAN_SEND_TEST_NOTIFICATION.
Note: This option is only available at Criteria level.
