The Admin Panel, the backbone of Umbria, is a collection of nodes or modules grouped by folders. Different levels of security access can be assigned for these folders in order to protect sensitive information. For example, System Administrators would have access to all folders; Power Users would have limited access to some, but not all folders; and End Users would have no access to the Admin Panel. Most of the information that displays in the Admin Panel nodes is populated via import from the client's time and billing system.
The Modules folder tree includes all the nodes in the Umbria Admin Panel. To locate a particular node, you can navigate through the folder tree by expanding folders, or you can type a portion of the node name in the search field at the top of the list and click the magnifying glass icon.
When you click a node, it opens in a new tab in the main Admin Panel workspace. For example, clicking the Clients node in the Modules list opens up a new Clients tab. You can click the X in the upper right corner of the tab to close it.
The Welcome tab is always open and cannot be closed. Here you see a Server Status list that shows a list of Web servers and Agent servers connected through Umbria. Servers whose names show in green are connected, while those that show in red are disconnected. The Server Status list includes the following columns:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Host | Server name. |
ServiceAccount | Agent connected to the server. |
Type | Shows either WebServer or AgentServer. |
Description | Additional explanation for the server, if applicable. |
Online | Checkbox is selected if server is currently online. |
OnlineTime | Amount of time (in days.hours:minutes:seconds format) the server has been online since login. This field does not update in real time; refresh your browser screen to see the most current information. |
To return to Umbria from the Admin Panel at any time, you can click the Umbria button in the upper left corner of the screen. You might also choose to have Umbria open in a separate browser tab while working in the Admin Panel.
