Fee Arrangement Sticker

A yellow Fee Arrangement sticker displays on the Matter Performance page, providing a quick preview of the arrangement. Click the arrow on the right of the sticker to expand it. Each fee type —Hourly (fees of a matter depend on number of hours worked) or Non-Hourly—has a sub-type. Specific details display for each sub-type. Review the details below.

Note: The Matter Performance screen will display the fee arrangement sticker details only in the case that a fee arrangement was set up for the relevant matter. If all phases in a matter have the same fee arrangement, the fee arrangement name will be displayed on the sticker. If all phases in a matter have different fee arrangements, the sticker name will be displayed as Multi Fee Type. For more details, refer to the Arrangements section.

Note: The details displayed below for each type and sub-type are out-of-the-box and can be customized.

Standard (Hourly)

The client is charged for each hour that a resource works on the matter.

Field Description
Avg Rate Average entered rate for standard hourly. (Sum of billed amount / Sum of worked hours)
Planned Avg Rate Sum of budget amount / Sum of budget hours

Discount Bottom of the bill discount + rate discount (standard rate - matter rate)

Fee Cap (Hourly)

The client is charged for each hour that a resource works on the matter but a maximum amount of fees is set. The client will not be billed for an amount in excess of the fee cap.

Above Cap Above budgeted cap. Billable fees: (Billed amount + WIP amount)
Realization Fee cap / Billed value at firm standard rate
Margin (Fee cap - Sum of billed base salary cost - Sum of billed firm overhead) / Fee cap
Fee Cap The maximum amount of fees that client will be billed. Fee cap amount

Average entered rate: Sum of billed amount / Sum of worked hours

Collar (Hourly)

Hourly rates with a range above and below the budget.

Field Description
Below Collar Fees that are below the bottom range limit (bottom collar) of the budget. (Billable fees: Billed amount + WIP amount)
Billed Realization Sum of billed amount / Sum of value at firm standard rate.
Billed Margin (Sum of billed amount - Sum of billed base salary cost - Sum of billed firm overheard) / Sum of billed amount
Top Collar The maximum amount above the budget.
Budget Amount Total amount budgeted for the matter (i.e., sum of budgeted hours * selected rate applied to the matter).
Bottom Collar The maximum amount below the budget.
Above Collar Discount The amount discounted when amount exceeds the top collar of the budget.(Top collar budget percentage)
Below Collar Premium Bottom collar budget percentage.

Recurring Fee Cap (Hourly)

The client is charged for each hour that a resource works on the matter but a maximum amount of fees is set. The client will not be billed for an amount in excess of the fee cap. This is a recurring arrangement, the duration of which depends on the setup in Fee Arrangements.
