Mapping Fee Earner Classes to Points & Target Types

The Profit module supports a flexible point-based allocation for fee earner classes. Points allow you to weight allocations by fee earner classes. Total points are provided at a firm, department, or office level based on the number of people working at a given location for a given month.

Create points and map them to fee earner classes. You will also map fee earners to target types, such as, department, office, practice group, etc. Make sure target types are set up prior to mapping.

To map fee earner classes to points:

Click the Configuration tab, select Settings >Points.
Click the Fee Earner Configuration sub-tab and click Add New. The Fee Earner Configuration window opens.
Select the Allocation Model from the drop-down menu.
Select the Personand the respective Fee Earner Class,Office, and Department, to which you want to assign the points from the drop-down menu.
Use the arrows to the right of the FTE Factor and Profit FTE field or enter the number of points to be assigned to the fee earner class.
Select a Start Date and End Date that the entry would be applicable.
Click Save.
Repeat as necessary for additional fee earner classes.

To view the effective points click the magnifying icon on the row. You can modify an existing fee earner class by clicking the pencil icon to the right of the field. Delete an entry by clicking the X to the right of the row.
