Import Options

The Import Options dialog can be opened via the Options button in the Import Wizard.

Files and Folders

Option Description
Allow Duplicate Documents

Import documents that have the same description as documents in the selected target. If this option is not enabled, duplicate documents are skipped during the import process.

Note: When the Recreate Folder Structure option is disabled, you must enable Allow Duplicate Documents in order to import all documents with identical names located in different folders. If this option is disabled, only the first instance of a document name will be imported.

Delete Source Files After Import

Automatically delete source files after they've been successfully imported into the DMS.

Leave Link to Document Create an NRL (Work) or URL (NetDocuments) file that points to the imported document after deleting the source file.

Metadata

Option Description
CSV Delimiter The character that separates values in CSV files containing metadata.
Name Email Based on File Name

Set the default name/description of email messages (i.e., MSG files) to their file name instead of their subject.

Note: Changing this setting does not affect messages already added to the current job.

Retain File Dates

Set the Created and Modified dates of imported documents to match those of the original files.

Note: In order to use this feature with Work, you must log in as a user who has been assigned a Work role with the Use WorkSite Administration privilege.
