Milan includes a set of default policy types that correspond to the most common kinds of ethical walls used in law firms. However, in many cases you will need to modify or create new policy types in order to create policies that meet your specific needs.
Policy types can be created via the Add New Custom Policy Type wizard, which can be opened by clicking the Add New Policy Type button at the top right corner of the Policy Types tab.
In order to create or edit a policy type, you must step through and fill out the following three screens.

Notify Team/Wall Templates | Choose an email message template from the drop down menu that can be used to notify team members about the creation of the policy. |
Warning: If you enable team/wall notifications in an existing policy type from which policies have already been created, users in those policies will not receive notifications unless you manually set a default template from the policy detail page (see Viewing and Updating Policies).
The final screen displays an overview of your selections for the policy type. If you are happy with your choices, click Create Policy Type to save the policy type.
