Matter Search

The Matter Search page, accessible from Financial → Firm → Matter Search, allows you to view performance statistics for all matters that match specific search criteria.

Tip: You can show / hide the Matter Search page for various users. Admin: Roles>Permission Group: Global> View Matters Performance Performance report.

Filter and Display Options

Before performing a search, you can configure various filter and display options from the bar at the top of the page.

Tip: To restrict the matter view (Matter Role drop-down) based on the options set in Global Settings>Matter View >Matter Performance Search, uncheck the user permission for Admin: Permission Group: Global> Search without checking role on the client/matter.
You can show / hide the options available in the View drop-down. Admin: Permission Group: Global> View Matters Performance Revenue (Accrual basis)/ View Matters Performance Revenue (Cash basis).

• In the top left corner of the screen, click the magnifying glass icon to open the Search panel. To close the search panel, click the X.
• You can search by Client, Matter, Billing Lawyer, Responsible Lawyer, Matter Kind, Target Realization from and Target Realization to.
• You can further select the radio options to search for All Matters or Invoiced Matters.

• Click the Search button. Click the Advanced button to open the advanced search form.

• To save a search, click the Save button. On the Please Name This Search pop-up window, enter a name for the search and click OK.
• To view a saved search,on the navigation pane on the left side of the screen, click the Saved Search tab. Click on the saved search to view the corresponding results.
• To delete a saved search,on the Saved Search tab, hover your cursor over a custom saved search so that it appears highlighted and an X displays to the right of it. Click the X. Click OK on the confirmation message window to delete the search.

Performance

Field	Description
Matter	Matter name and number.
Matter Value	Total Entered Amount for the matter. (Value of Time at Matter Rate)
Billed Hours	Number of hours worked during this period that have been billed to the client.
Billed Fees	Amount billed to the client for hours worked during this period.
Unbilled Hours	Hours worked during this period that have not been billed to the client.
Unbilled Fees	Value of Unbilled Hours.
Write-Down /Up Hours	Number of hours worked during this period that will not be billed (write down) or number of hours worked added to an invoice (write up).
Billed Realization	Billed Fees / Billed Value at Firm Standard Rate Tip: You can show / hide the Billed Realization for various users. Admin: Roles>Permission Group: KPI> Can View Collected Realization on Matter Performance.
Billed vs Target Realization	Comparison between billed value at firm standard rate and imported target realization set for this matter.
Billed Margin	Equal to (Billed Fees - Matter Expenses) / Billed Fees.
Entered Leverage	Ratio of non-Partner hours worked to Partner hours worked during this period.
Collected Realization	Equal to amount collected for time worked during this period divided by the value of the hours collected, hours billed, or hours worked (depending on global report settings) at firm standard rate. Tip: You can show / hide the Collected Realization for various users. Admin: Roles>Permission Group: KPI> Can View Collected Realization on Matter Performance.

Revenue (Accrual Basis)/Revenue by Posted Date (Accrual Basis)

Field	Description
Matter	Matter name and number.
Billed Fees	Amount invoiced to the client during this time period.
Billed Realization	Billed Fees / Billed Value at Firm Standard Rate
Billed vs Target Realization	Comparison between billed value at firm standard rate and imported target realization set for this matter.
A/R Write-Off	Amount billed during this time period that was written off by the client.
Collected Fees	Amount received on invoices issued during this time period.
Fees Due	Amount still to be paid on invoices issued during this time period.
Collected Realization	Equal to amount collected for time worked during this period divided by the value of the hours collected, hours billed, or hours worked (depending on global report settings) at firm standard rate.
Collected Margin	Equal to (Collected Fees - Matter Expenses) / Collected Fees.

Revenue (Cash Basis)/Revenue by Posted Date (Cash Basis)

Field	Description
Matter	Matter name and number.
