Parties

Parties help you check conflict of interest early on, between parties or clients involved in a matter. If a conflict is found, the firm can seek a waiver from each of the involved parties or reject the matter.

From the Matter menu drop down, click on Players and Parties. Click on the Parties tab. Two sections are available on this screen:

Under the Client section, the client name for the selected Matter is displayed. Click on the client name to view and update the Client Profile.

In the Other Parties section, click on the Add Party button on the right, to add a new party to the matter:

  1. Make a selection from the Party drop-down.
  2. Select the relationship type of the party to the matter. Available options are Adverse Party, Client, Co-Party, and Related/Interested. You may add additional options in the Admin>Party Relationship Type node.
  3. Click Save.
  4. The initial status will be displayed as Draft.
  5. Click on the pencil icon next to Draft, to edit the status and change it either Submitted, In-process, Subject to Waiver, Cleared, or Rejected in case of a conflict.
  6. A mouse hover on the added party will display the Edit and the Delete options.
