About SQL Reporting

Umbria's SQL Reporting is a powerful but easy-to-use tool that allows you to run SQL queries against the Umbria database, the time and billing system database (Elite, CMS, etc.) or any other database. You can view the results onscreen or export to a variety of mediums.

Accessing SQL Reporting

There are two ways you can access the SQL Reporting tool:

SQL Reporting User Interface

The table below lists and describes the primary components of the SQL Reporting screen.

Field/Section Description
New Query button Add a new query or click the drop-down button to add a new connection or category.
Search field Connection string look up.
Edit button Edit a connection string.
Menu

Display the list of categories, connections, generic look ups, and import or export. It includes:

  • Return to Umbria
  • Go to the Admin module
  • View/edit Categories
  • View/edit Connection Strings
  • View/Add Generic Lookups (for parameters)
  • Import Default Queries (the Umbria out-of-the-box queries)
  • Import Queries (Umbria Reporting queries from another system or created elsewhere)
  • Export Queries
  • Sign out of Umbria
Queries tab This tab includes all SQL DB non-utility queries. You can filter by category or use the search field to search for a particular query.
Utility Queries tab Contains all the out-of-the-box utility queries that are useful for information gathering or finding the status of a particular DB.
Recent Visited Queries tab All of the recently used or edited queries display here.
